3) KOI-YAMA (鯉山)
Koi-yama tells the Chinese legend of a carp that struggled up 'Ryūmon-no-taki' (竜門の滝 'Dragon Gate Waterfall') on the Yellow River to become a dragon.
The float's small shrine is dedicated to Susanoo (須佐之男), god of the sea, storms and Yasaka-jinja.
@landley @mrmasterkeyboard nodds in agreement
Granted the #IETF also accepts proprietary standards like #HSRP which resulted in #CARP being developed.
Seems like, that #FreeBSD with #ZFS on #HAST with #CARP isn't reliable? I see often corrupted ZFS pools after failovers. Some minor research concluded, that ZFS is writing a lot of meta data, and that ZFS is prone to corruptions when something on block level doesn't get synchronized good enough. #UFS should be much more reliable. Maybe I will just use UFS for my HA storage and then #rsync to a #ZFS powered Backup server once daily or so. Any ideas anyone? #BSD #RunBSD

To help them figure out the puzzle — #gefilte is traditionally made from #whitefish, #carp or #pike — Taylor asks customers about their taste preferences, what their grandmother’s #gefiltefish looked like and where their families are from. Plain carp is darker than other fish, while buffalo carp and whitefish are fattier. Russians, Europeans and Israelis typically would have used plain carp, whereas in New York the preference was for #buffalocarp, or a mix of pike and whitefish.
Taylor can also tell what’s in a dish of already cooked gefilte just from taking a bite. Texture and taste are the tells. Whitefish has a fattier and softer texture than pike, according to Taylor, who prefers fattier fish. He likens the differences to making a burger using beef that’s 20 percent fat versus 3 percent: The texture is totally different.

In Chinese mythology, Longmen ("Dragon Gate") is located at the top of a waterfall on a legendary mountain. If a carp is able to swim up this waterfall and jump through the Dragon's Gate, it will be transformed into a powerful dragon. Katsushika Hokusai
@lanefu @pearl I mean, I'd rather try to use #ipFire but sadly I've yet to see some #Linux-based #Networking distro / setup that comes close to #pfSense / #OPNsense...
But that's me being "too lazy" to do #iptables...

From scratch should (and would) be possible if said #configuration isn't just proprietary bs but actually following a documented syntax akin to any proper #configuration.
Not to mention #vendors prefer #siloing amd #Enshittifying products, so having #InterchangeableFormats goes against their primary #commercial interests.
Sadly it's more #unrealistic to see such standardization to happen than #YAML being replaced by #YADL...
Fried up half of an #AsianCarp for part of Mom's #DiabeticFriendly & #HeartHealthy late lunch.
These are invasive species in BC - people are encouraged to catch them to help with removal from our waterways. You can eat them. They're tasty.

December 1 already! For the first day of #ArtAdventCalendar, I am sharing the first print I made in 2024. I made this #linocut for the #PrinterSolstice prompt complementary! Orange and blue. An ornamental white and orange carp or koi fish. The edition of prints are made on Japanese kozo (or mulberry) paper, 8” by 10” (20.3 cm by 25.4 cm).
