Update, Kliment on IRC correctly pointed out that the DECT module needs 1.8v signalling, so I've added level shifting, also at the suggestion of Kliment I was able to fit a small I2C eeprom that'll hold the client application to control the module, I also found a 3mm by 3mm piezo buzzer, the CMT-322-65 and just squeezed in a corner connected to the Tildagon, with a bit of luck I should be able to allow custom ringtones with RTTL, I have a good curated list of memes songs in that format :blobfoxlaugh:

Got recommended github.com/funkeleinhorn/sc14c and after looking more into the SC14CVMDECT module, it's actually really quite useful, being entirely controlled via serial, only needing 3.3 volts and a few resistors and capacitors to support a audio jack

Since I'm gonna have to make my own custom PCB, I decided to actually try and make a DECTspansion module of the Tildagon (EMF Camp badge)

I've thrown together an initial board

Just a small module, with the DECT module controlled via serial by the client application on the Tildagon and a audio jack where a novelty phone handset can be connected, I've also broken out the serial to a header so that I can control the DECT module from an RPi and that also makes exploring the DECT module interface easier from a PC, just need to get this fabbed and see what happens

So preparations for #emfcamp

My fursuit has a rotary telephone inside, and I'd be stupid if I didn't get it working on DECT, I already have a Pi Zero in there with a GSM module, but finding something similar for DECT is proving a little more allusive

The best I could find is this module codico.com/en/homea-dhx913-ext

Which actually has a RPi GPIO header, the issues are 1. expensive and 2. is DECT ULE even gonna be compatible?

If anyone can weigh in who knows the setup at EMF or perhaps knows of another approach that can be used I'd be very grateful
