June recap: compared to May I have 245.3 → 245.9mi (255.1 w/ walking), EG 3,609 → 3,728ft, 36 → 37hr running.

This was stable from May, and 45.9mi above my monthly 200mi goal. During the month I ran my 2nd this year ( water fountain race) and two 50+K runs on consecutive Sundays, setting distance record to 35.28mi!

I'm at 1,454.7 of yearly goal 2,400mi, 264.6 ahead. My 3rd marathon race this year is in August (tunnelmarathon.com). Onward!

I read a book once on the RCMP's first-ever undercover agent and was shocked to discover it more or less gets going in #Drumheller, as the police considered miners and their workplaces to be hotbeds of communism.

IIRC, somewhat hilariously, while the agent had to work FT as a miner, he was required to fork over his substantial mining pay amd live off police wages, which didn't help so mich with fitting in and keeping cover. 😂

For today's #fossilfriday , here's a trace fossil, Ophiomorpha! These are the traces of burrows originally made by crustaceans. The nodules on the outside are the fossilized remains of the crustacean's faeces, which are used to strengthen the side of the burrow. This behaviour can also be seen in modern-day ghost shrimp.

These were found near the boundary of the Bearpaw / Horseshoe Canyon formations.
