Hey, if anyone with #epilepsy #migraine or other photosensitivity problems play #FFXIV #ff14 & need help protecting themselves from the excessive VFX of the bosses, esp in #DawnTrail I've made presets for the #Dalamud plugin #EasyEyes

It does *not* remove all VFX, but anything full screen & flashy, strobing, or cumulative problematic effects, is definitely gone. I'm gonna work backwards into other expacs as well

Muir Vidler: Stereo EEG Self-Portrait, 2023

This was taken after a surgical procedure to implant #electrodes into Vidler’s #brain. The procedure is carried out on people who have #epilepsy that can’t be controlled by medication and is used to identify which area of the brain is causing the seizures, and can determine whether they are eligible for brain surgery. Vidler took this picture on the first day that the electrodes were inserted, and he had to keep them in for seven days

Enjoying a cider in Herefordshire.

My new #epilepsy drug works with the GABA receptors -the same stuff alcohol likes to play with- so its no alcohol for me.
Or at least near zero -this is a very fine cider with only 0.5% strength. Weakened even more by the ice cubes put in to keep it as cool as possible

I'm starting a new #epilepsy drug tomorrow where drinking alcohol is explicitly forbidden as they both interact with GABA receptors (?) in the brain.
An evening trip to the Antur brewery of Crickhowell, Wales , for some of their Helles pilsner may constitute the last beer for some time. If the new drug works, I am not going to risk a bevvie or two.

A great setting for the event: sitting outside with mountains all around, metres from where the beer is brewed. Hopefully this will be a memory to cherish.

Not sure if helpful for your strategic goal, and I'm only on mobile so have not the machine translation to investigate, but the #Japanese bloody love a good standard that everyone can follow... I wonder if they'd #publish anything equivalent for less, or if there are any countries into publishing #standards at low cost, who also treasure quality, and understand the role of standards in creating #quality in technologically advanced economies.

The #SupremeCourt on June 12 unanimously sided with a #disabled student trying to sue her school for not doing enough to accommodate her rare form of #epilepsy, a decision that could make it easier for families to seek damages under the #AmericansWithDisabilitiesAct.

The justices said a lower court used the wrong standard when rejecting the #discrimination lawsuit.
