A collection-in-progress of music retailers offering music in high quality, accessible, and permanently ownable formats. More important than ever when streaming sites keep removing music or even lack music you want.

A collection-in-progress of various queer/LGBTQIA+ oriented and focused social groups, meetups, recurring events, etc. within the Montreal (Tiohtià:ke) and Greater Montreal area.

In the past weekends, I made more changes to Strange (Quantum Computing in Java). Apart from bug fixes, I'm doing the work required for plugging in different execution environments, allowing for performance measurements.
I'm particularly looking into JMH (github.com/openjdk/jmh) .
Performance of a QC Simulator is very different from real QC performance, but some analysis is useful (e.g. number of gates, topology,...) for real world.

@darkuncle OMG. I just googled Jon Dowling. We went out of touch around 15 or so years ago. I never learned until today that he passed away in 2020. ☹️

Jon and I worked together when he was at Caltech/JPL. He was a pioneer in #quantum #engineering and #computing. He led a small group of brilliant researchers in my Computing and Information Systems section. They were so far ahead in thinking about applications of #QC that senior management mostly considered the work too theoretical and/or controversial. I mostly tried to run interference for them and clear the brush out of Jon’s way. He once taught me the “Six Beer Quantum Rule” — you can only understand quantum tech after you’ve had six beers. (The proof is left to the reader.) I feel exceptionally lucky to have known him.
