Open scholarly metadata is actually such a huge mess, especially for monographs, edited volumes, grey lit, i.e. anything that isn't an english STEM journal article.

Is anyone doing research on how hierarchies in different fields impact the research (quality)?
My hypothesis is that the more hierarchical a field the more difficult the collaboration and the lower the quality.
