Pro tip for #owncloud #nextcloud #ocis and #opencloud Always check a public link with or without passwords by opening it in a private browser tab before you send it. Can be a life saver! And you can see how beautiful your PDF viewer, your folder view or your direct collaboration with #collabora or #onlyoffice works.
So it seems the documentation on https://docs.nextcloud.com/server/latest/admin_manual/maintenance/migrating_owncloud.html is wrong. I can not upgrade owncloud 10.15.x.x to nextcloud 25.0.13 as 25.0.13 says it can only upgrade from owncloud 10.13.x.x.
Anyone got any CORRECT documentation anywhere?
Seit wir mehrere Abmahnungen von #nextcloud bekommen haben wegen unliebsamer Posts auf Wikipedia (2024, damals noch im Dienste von #owncloud) und 2025, wegen Linked-In-Posts und letztere auch einen Gerichtstermin in Regensburg erzwangen, arbeitet Feilner IT aktiv zusammen mit der NGO #NOSLAPP (https://www.noslapp.de), die sich mit genau solchen Themen beschäftigt. Aktuell ist der Gesetzgeber dabei, hier Regeln zu verbessern und wir sind involviert, in der Planung sind Konferenzauftritte

I definitely recommend #Nextcloud, founded by @Karlitschek (who left ownCloud in 2016 due to differences of opinion regarding the strategies adopted).

Ordner lassen sich nicht löschen
Nach der OwnCloud-Deinstallation bleiben zwei Ordner zurück, die ich nicht löschen kann – Windows sagt, sie existieren nicht. Wie entferne ich sie trotzdem?
(€) Ich habe über die letzten Jahre viel recherchiert, selbst bei @ownclouders gearbeitet, auch bei @mailbox_org, die heute @OpenCloud betreiben. Und ich war Speaker auf der #nextcloud conference. Letztere hatten immer wieder Probleme mit Aussagen von mir, man traf sich vor Gericht, der Vergleich war für uns sehr erfreulich. Egal. #opensource #linux hat so viele spannende Geschichten zu erzählen, die von #owncloud und #nextcloud und #opencloud ist eine davon.

Bei den freien Cloud-Plattformen hat man mittlerweile die Qual der Wahl: Wir zeigen, wie sich ownCloud, Nextcloud, oCIS und OpenCloud voneinander unterscheiden.
Nachdem Nextcloud ja mittlerweile kaum noch upzudaten ist, sich viele Leute über den Desktop Client beschweren, die Synchronisation ein Glücksspiel ist, etc, drängt sich mir die Frage auf, ob man nicht einfach absteigen sollte, wenn man erkennt, dass das Pferd tot ist. Nur auf welches Pferd wechseln? Ich kam ja ursprünglich von OwnCloud, und als die den Weg eingeschlagen haben den jetzt Nextcloud geht bin ich gewechselt. Jetzt höre ich des Öfteren, dass Owncloud Infinity Scale wieder genau so sein soll, wie man es sich erwartet. Einfaches Filesharing und Synchronisation, ohne bloat und AI. Die Installation war erstaunlich einfach, ich würde mal schätzen mit Zertifikaten, Nginx und Co. eine Viertelstunde. Gibt es schon Erfahrungen von jemand damit? Läuft das stabil? Kann man Nutzer und Daten von Nextcloud einfach migrieren?
