@ZLabe here is a really good article by #GeorgePacker for #TheAtlantic that is set in, and largely about #Phoenix, AZ, its heat, water, America, MAGA, etc. It's beautifully written. It's a 'gift article,' thus all the url embroidery.

"And in all insomniacs, throughout the night, the arousal centers of the brain keep clattering away, as does the prefrontal cortex (in charge of planning, decision making), whereas in regular sleepers, these buzzing regions go offline." —Jennifer Senior for The Atlantic

The Atlantic · Why Can’t Americans Sleep?By Jennifer Senior

This article sure hit home and confirms much of what I suspected in my dealings with Blue Shield, such as incomprehensible phone trees, missing records, dropped calls, and repeated refusals to refer the case to a supervisor. In my case, I was lucky California has an insurance office you can get involved to help with a complaint. Still, it took 6 months, 18 calls totaling over 12 hours, several emails, and a letter to CA to get the $3300 that Blue Shield owed me.

The Atlantic · That Dropped Call With Customer Service? It Was on Purpose.By Chris Colin

If anyone knows a dev at the #Atlantic, I’d like to discuss their keyboard UX for Bracket City. Currently the gutters next to A and L on their software keyboard are dead zones. Best practice is that the entire keyboard area should be a live tap zone, with those gutters translating to A and L respectively (this is how all native software keyboards work). I keep missing a perfect score because of missed keystrokes and this is unsustainable

Searching for #News in the #Fediverse? I have now collected 1043 official/verified accounts by media organizations and the number is still growing.
They are not only on #Mastodon or #Flipboard (although most of them are).

For example, I have now 6 that are federated via @index@activitypub.ghost.org (#Ghost)

They are:

Sadly #Platformer (by @caseynewton) or #TheAtlantic are still missing. Any more that I missed?

What Are People Still Doing on X?

Ma che cosa ci fa la gente ancora su X?
