Good day!
It dropped to 45F (7.2C) last night. I snuggled with Evie Cat beneath blankets & didn’t want to get up.
Yesterday, it rained all day, which is unusual here.
We’re going to return to seasonal soon, but it was sure a nice break from summer temps.
Be everwell.

last scene sensations
I edited a chapter late in Kovenlore Book-4, Buried Remembrances, the POV character female. The scene:
Open: apprehension because of a confrontation, but that fades as the threat is less than expected. Some amusement & sympathy seep in.
Middle: giddy delight with someone she’s attracted to, the attraction becoming sexual tension.
End: Growing apprehension for new reasons, then fear for multiple reasons.

baking
Any baking I’ve done I learned on my own. My mother didn’t teach me, well, anything.
Regardless, I’ve stopped baking. I LOVE baked goods, but baked goods love my middle. That means added weight. That means a greater strain on my damaged lungs.
I won’t endanger hiking, which I need for my mental & physical health, including exercising my lungs so they don’t start contracting.
I miss baked goods, but it’s about quality of life.

me wanting someone else to write my ideas?
Ah—no. If I have an original idea, there’s no one else who I’d want to write it, even if it was vastly outside of my comfort zone.
Yes, there are writers I enjoy & I want them to continue writing more of what they write, but those aren’t my ideas. There are also some writers I’d bring back from the dead, but that’s problematic.
Hands off my original ideas, thank you very much.
Another instance of an event I cannot attend because I don't live in the UK. But yes, 150 years of illustrations for Austen books? Yes, please!

#PennedPossibilities 749 — MC POV: What is the goal you’re trying to achieve?
Alexios: Wanna keep my friends safe, that's all. I want everyone happy, healthy, and f*ckin' whole. Feels a bit impossible, but I'm trying anyway.
Submitted a manuscript today. Fingers crossed!

Good day!
The advantage of where I live is that I left home, went to the hospital, had my mammogram, and made it home in less than an hour.
And still it’s raining.
This is a true soaker rain, something I haven’t seen here in years. We really needed it.
Back to editing…
Be everwell.
One of my non-fiction pieces was accepted for publication! I will post details soon!
Excerpt from book I'm writing:
Most of the time when I read "climate news" I get the feeling that we are just shuffling chairs on the deck of the Titanic. None of the stories motivate people to live in concordance with Nature, consume less, stop eating beef, reconsider flying, take public transportation, or have fewer children.

Good day!
I’m off for a mammogram soon.
There are those in healthcare who have your best interests at heart.
There are those who view illness as good for business. Those people stole a third of my lungs—& then my insurance paid minimally.
That’s cooperation.
Be everwell.

writing tipping point
My 1st written story was at 15, prompted by the inability to silence them any longer. I then wrote regularly through my teens.
At 41 it was more complex: professor encouragement +5 yrs before, decision to switch more to plotting, Bradbury’s advice to fast draft. I wrote for 5-yrs—& then my life fell apart in a colossal way.
At 53, despite poor health, I was at last comfortable with myself. I was ready.
#PennedPossibilities 748 — How does your SC view the world: as a cruel and unforgiving place, a land full of wonders, or something in-between? (Reference their experiences, life lessons, etc.)
A cold, cruel, and unforgiving place. Dante is a doc, and he's seen all that life in Ethera has to offer. This city is filled with violence, same as the others on Citune. There's nothing here to make him feel like it would be a land full of wonders, happiness, and kindness. Sure, you /can/ find those things if you look hard enough, but that's not the point. He knows better. He's spent his entire life saving lives and trying to keep his friends intact. The answer is only based on his life experiences, not a dark and dismissal (and untrue) view of everything. It isn't fabricated. It's reality, and it's all quite depressing, so he tries not to think about it very often.
@TinJar I use an ISBN for my paperbacks, but not my ebooks. Aside from copyright concerns, if you want your books to be orderable by bookstores and libraries, you need an ISBN. IngramSpark is the US book distributor and they require it. You can upload print files to them for POD service. If you are going to be writing multiple books, it is much cheaper to buy ISBNs in bulk.
I was not aware that a new S+S is coming down the pipeline! It's from Focus Features (who also did P+P 2005) so hopefully this will be good. Additionally, Fiona Shaw plays Mrs. Jennings here, AND she's playing Lady Catherine de Brough over at Netflix's P+P. She's on an Austen kick!

In a previous video, I answer the question, "Can you turn your D&D game into a novel?"
It's important to understand the semantics of the question.
Yes, your D&D game can absolutely provide INSPIRATION for a fantasy novel. No, you most likely cannot turn the transcript of your D&D game directly into the plot of a novel.
I have been a D&D Dungeon Master since the early 80s. Not coincidentally, I've also written four fantasy novels (since 2013). I have an efficient method for taking a creative idea and producing a 80k-100k novel in about six months. If I create a YouTube video about my writing process, would you find that useful?
