@82mhz At the end I installed all necessary software inside Docker with ubuntu:20.04 and managed to run it and successfully compiled and executed "Hello world" in the #Palm emulator.

Hacks were necessary to install JDK and WTK without user interaction, because old distributions don't allow installation without user input 😞

@82mhz Oh, I have a story with #palm programming!
I have a Palm device which can run #Java ME. JVM for #PalmOS I found easily in the palmdb.net.

But JDK 1.5/1.6, Sun Java Wireless Toolkit and an old Eclipse with WTK support weren't so easy to find. Especially because of "sanctions" 🤡 which prohibits usual programmer, who born with a "wrong citizenship", to download JDK 1.5.

I found Linux installers in the #InternetArchive and successfully installed them in the Ubuntu 20.04 with some hacking 😈

In 2010 Phil McKinney led the technical due diligence on Palm and convinced HP's board to acquire the mobile company. Here he tells for the first time the story of how HP fumbled the acquisition and doomed WebOS.

Yeah, Graffiti 2 a.k.a. Jot was a result of a stupid patent suit. It was nerfed to comply with a court ruling.

I found a Wikipedia article about their non-volatile storage scheme: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-Volatile_File_System
