The urgent and emergency mutual aid hashtags are present because the fact that those doing some of the most positive work for this world have no fixed address or reliable food or drink sources is an emergency.

Great harvest pick of #GrannySmith #apples today. Granny Smith apples are currently one of the most expensive apples in local stores with average pricing of $2.99/lb. The apples we gleaned from one tree, were almost all perfect apples - very few with damage on them 🍏😃
These will be greatly appreciated by many food insecure folks around our community 👍💗

Missing 3 volunteers who had to leave at noon. Some of our weekend warriors who volunteered for our fruits chopping work party at Mustard Seed Distribution HQ, today. We cut & bagged up a LOT of fruits! We are making value added products to sell, with these bagged cut fruits.
As a nonprofit, we need to sell some items to fund our community food security work. All sale profits go back into funding our programs/projects.

Seeds and Synergies. Cultural Foods meet the Good Food 2030 Strategy - please reserve your free tickets.
eventbrite.ca/e/seeds-and-syne

The #Seeds and #Synergies is a gathering that aims to bring together community members, growers, farmers, and farmers to be, facilitators, and partners from racialized groups to reflect on the role of #CulturallyRelevantCrops and #LandAccess in shaping the access of these groups to locally grown, healthy and nutritious foods, education, employment opportunities, income, and belonging to the land, to themselves and their communities.

For the past five years, #IyéCreative has been working with community members and local farmers to learn about cultural crops – plant relatives that carry deep meaning for our food, health, and traditions on Coast Salish lands. We’ve also been pushing for fairer land policies so more people can grow the foods and medicines that matter to them.

#CulturalFoods aren’t just products on a market, or grocery store shelf. They’re living connections that tie us to land, spirit, and each other.

We are inviting you to help us make this story come alive!
