Fascinating Cross-Section Shows Road's 4,000-Year History via My Modern Met [Shared]

Astratified cross-section of a highway in the United Kingdom tells a fascinating history of the country. The image, which has been circulating online for several years, shows millennia of material from a Bronze Age trackway to modern asphalt. All the more interesting is the fact that the road represented is the A303, which runs through the Stonehenge World Heritage Site.

We signed an open letter to the Minnesota Department of Transportation and Governor Tim Walz requesting that at-grade options for the "Rethinking i-94" project are reinstated.

We're headquartered in the West Seventh neighborhood, not far from the i-94 corridor. Our entire Twin Cities-based team lives along or near the i-94 corridor in the areas affected by MNDOT's plans. We believe strongly that the at-grade options are the best choice for the communities we're in, as they provide better access to transit and better bikeability along the corridor, while retaining the higher speed artery that those who drive have come to rely on.

This is part of our continuing dedication to be involved with the communities where we work and live.

Where they dug up the roadside to replace a water line and add fiber conduit, there are now long anti-erosion snakes, which are apparently called "erosion control wattles". Someone has decorated two of the wattles to make them much more interesting.
